Pyromorphite, Bunker Hill, Green and Yellow.
Bunker Hill mine, Couer D’Alene, Kellog, Idaho
This specimen exhibits a spectacular transition from a deep forest green at the top to a bright yellow-ogange at the bottom. Even the underside of this piece (shown) is coated with bubbly Boytroidal crystals. This Pyromorphite has a lustous almost wet look to it. There is no surface damage to this piece, just slight crust removed from the extraction of the specimen. This material was mined in the 1990’s. The mine is now thoroughly closed. This stands alone at over three inches, an excellent addition to any collection.
